Privacy and cookies
This notice applies from 12 October 2026.
This notice explains what personal information we collect when you use this website or contact us, why we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the rights you have.
Who we are
Purity Automotive Detailing is the trading name of James Helliwell, who is the controller of the personal information described in this notice.
For any privacy question or request, email info@purityautomotivedetailing.com or call 07943 815 603.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry through the website, we collect your name, phone number, email address, postcode, vehicle make and model, the service and package you are interested in, and any comments you add. For New Vehicle Protection we also ask for the date you collect the car.
The dealership form asks for the dealership name, the types of vehicle and your requirements instead of a single vehicle.
You can attach up to five photographs. They are optional, and they may show your vehicle, its number plate and its surroundings.
If you contact us by phone, email or WhatsApp, we keep the details you give us in that conversation. If you book with us, we keep records of the booking, the work carried out and your payments.
Our website host keeps basic technical logs of requests to the site, which are used to run it and keep it secure.
How we use it and why
We only use your information where the law allows it. For each use, the legal reason is:
- Replying to your enquiry and preparing a quote: these are steps you have asked us to take before entering into a contract.
- Arranging and carrying out the work you book, and contacting you about the appointment: this is needed to perform our contract with you.
- Issuing invoices and keeping business accounts: we are required to by law.
- Sending existing customers maintenance reminders and review requests by email: this is in our legitimate interests, as explained below.
- Keeping the website secure and counting visits to it without cookies: this is in our legitimate interests in running a safe, working website.
- Measuring how the website is used with Google Analytics: only with your consent, which you give or refuse when the website asks about cookies.
Reminders and review requests
If you have booked with us, we may email you when maintenance is due or to ask for a review of our work. Electronic marketing law allows this for existing customers, as long as you can say no.
You can opt out at any time by replying, emailing or calling us. After that we will not send you these emails again.
These emails are sent individually from info@purityautomotivedetailing.com. We do not use a marketing platform.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with the organisations that help us run the business:
- Our website agency, which built this site and manages its hosting, photo storage and enquiry email delivery for us.
- Vercel Inc., which hosts this website. Photographs sent with an enquiry are stored on Vercel Blob at hard-to-guess links that are never published.
- Resend, which delivers the website enquiry email to us.
- Google, which provides our email (Google Workspace) for info@purityautomotivedetailing.com, and Google Analytics if you accept its cookies.
- Meta, which runs WhatsApp, only if you choose to contact us that way.
- Our payment providers and bank, to take and process payments.
- Our accountant, to prepare our accounts.
Transfers outside the UK
Vercel, Resend and Google are based in the United States, so your information may be processed there. These transfers are protected by the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or both.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a booking, and any photographs sent with them, are deleted within 12 months.
- Customer, booking and payment records are kept for six years after your last job, to meet tax rules.
- We keep your email address for reminders and review requests until you opt out.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising cookies. We count visits without cookies.
If you accept them, we also use Google Analytics cookies to see how visitors use the website. They are named _ga and _ga followed by an identifier, and last for up to two years. They are not set unless you accept, and you can change your answer at any time using Cookie settings at the foot of every page. Your answer is stored only in your browser.
If you choose light or dark mode, that choice is stored only in your browser. It is not sent to us.
Automated decisions
We do not use your information for profiling, and we do not make decisions about you by automated means.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to restrict how we use it
- object to how we use it, including objecting to reminders and review requests at any time
- ask for the information you gave us in a format you can pass to another organisation
Some of these rights depend on the circumstances. For example, we have to keep invoices for as long as tax law requires.
To use any of these rights, email info@purityautomotivedetailing.com or call 07943 815 603. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

We will update this notice if the way we use personal information changes. The date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect.
